| Band | Title | Description |
| Sarratum | Firewall | Debut full-length. One man band from Turkey. Pretty clean sounding effort, drum machine included. Check his special myspace page for samples. Limited to 300 copies on War Flagellation Productions. |
| Satan | The Fallen Crow | A collection release spanning 2001-2005 over two demos, a single and a full length. That is all I am going to say. Take that for what its worth. Limited to 333 copies on Sad Spirit Productions. |
| Satanichrist | Worship | Twelve track demo tape of blasting Brazilian black metal. The entire demo, which includes a Transylvanian Hunger cover, is also included in a live setting as bonus tracks. Limited to 501 copies on Diabolous Productions. |
| Satanic Sacrifice | Demo I | Raw USBM. |
| Satanize | S/T | Now this is the kind of demo I like, pure rehearsal/shit sound. The band takes an interesting approach, only drums, bass and vocals. Worthy of a listen. Limited to 200 copies on Eternal Desolation Records. |
| Scorn | The Midnight Funeral | New US band making their debut. Howling, cavernous vocals that are quite loud in the mix and at time cut into the music. Not typical black metal, leaning more towards the off-beat style but not Lifelover weird. Drakkar Productions. |
| Scourge of the Leper | Demo + Reh | Debut demo release from this Aussie unit. Mid-paced and fuzzy, simple black metal. There is also a rehearsal included on the demo and it sounds a bit rougher. Asgard Musik/Winterreich Productions. |
| Searing Skull | Inlandsis | One man French unit. On the cleaner side, soundwise. Very artificial drums. Best thing is probably the vocals. Six tracks, about forty-five minutes. Limited to 250 copies on Infernal Kommando Records. |
| Searking Skull/Eihwaz | United by the Runes | Two French bands on this split. One playing traditional bm and the other playing pagan bm. Limited to 500 copies on Korosiv Production. |
| Seelengrief | Jensiets der Schatten | German bm in the traditional vein with some acoustic work. Featuring an Odal member. Limited to 150, Irminsul Records. |
| Seges Findere | Death To Peace Is Our Gospel | Release compiling three demos plus an unreleased track. Fast, evil and brutal. AMF Productions. |
| Seraphel | Remembrance | South American black metal performed in the traditional northern fast/aggressive style. This is pretty clean sounding as well. Seven tracks. Limited to 333 copies on Furia Productions. |
| Shadow Magus | Chao Ab Ordo | Debut offering from this Aussie outfit. Traditional black metal. Slick digital sound. Four tracks in total. Limited to 66 copies on Eradication Process Productions. |
| Shall Suffer The Eclipse | A walk in the path of morbid existence | First demo from this Brazilian one man band. Nihilistic bm with necro vocals like Attila. Limited to 300 copies, Alastor Rex. |
| Shoggoth | Pandemia Nenavisti | Ripping, raging Russian black metal. Fast and aggressive. Very nice rough rehearsal sound. Unlike most Russian bands, these guys use real drums. Not a bad effort at all. Seven tracks in total. Thou Shalt Kill Records. |
| Sick | Filth and Ugliness | Anotehr project of that Vrolok guy. Intro, three regular tracks and a bad outro. Nevertheless, this is probably the best thing the dude has done. Drakkar Productions. |
| Sinisterite | Black Demise | UK/Finnish collaberation prject. Slow, heavy, trudgey black filth. Self-released, limited to 150 copies. |
| Sirin | The Dawn of Freedom | Hailing from Slovakia this one man horde plays epic black metal in the old Polish tradition. Nice rough production. I'm not a big fan of Eastern European bands but this is pretty solid. Limited to 200 copies on Garazel Productions. |
| Sjalvmord | Sjalvhatets Skonhet | Slow depressive bm on Forgotten Wisdom Productions. |
| Skogen | Polnocne Nieswiete Sztormy | One man Polish unit playing traditional black metal in the nordic vein. Somewhat of a rough production, programmed drums but they sound decent. All lyrics in Polish. Limited to 200 copies on Strigoi Records. |
| Skuggeheim | Vinterrikets Konge | Being that this is a Fossbrenna release it should already tell you that this is anotherquality act from the Norwegian underground. Presented here is traditional black metal but it is executed quite well. And the sound...well the sound varies. The first two tracks sound as if they were recorded ten years ago. The others are not as rough sounding. Three metal tracks, two ambient and one acoustic. |
| Skullcrusher | Metal Sorcery | Live set from this now defunct Finnish band. Alcoholic black thrashing metal. Antihumanism Records. |
| Slaughtbbath | The Unholy Wrath of the Sacrilegious Reprisal | Description coming... |
| Slejpnir/Kozmik Krypt | Funeral Of Morality | Two Greek bands on this split. Slejpnir is up first with eight tracks. The only hint of any traditional Greek style would be the synths. Otherwise this is traditional bm. Kozmik Krypt plays very raw and noisy bm. The sound here is utter crap, in a good way though. However, I cannot take a band seriously when one of the members calls himself Grim Juggler, I shit you not. Is this guy retarded? There is even a song with the same name. What a fucking joke. |
| Slidhr | Demo I | Project featuring a Myrkr member! If you like Myrkr, you will probably like this demo as well, the style isn't that far off. These tracks will also be featured on the upcoming debut. Debemur Morti. |
| Snowfall | Black Terror Art | Full length from 2004. Raw and lo-fi Canadien black metal in the traditional vein. Seven tracks in total. Limited to 200 copies on Northern Horde Records. |
| Sombre Chemin | Doctrine | The debut full length from one of the best bands France has to offer. While the French scene has fallen this band has not. Very well executed, raw and atmospheric. Not much else needs to be said. Hammerbund. |
| Sombre Chemin/Ornaments of Sin | Split | Sombre Chemin surly needs no introduction. Ornaments of Sin is French as well and quite a low profile band, this being only their third release. Worthy of checking out. Hammerbund. |
| Sons of North | The Death of Whit Race | The final album by this Russian NSBM outfit. Full of hatred and pesimissim. Stellar Winter Records. |
| Sortsind | Vanvid | One of the few black bands bands to come out of Denmark. This tape release is the same as the cd version. It compiles the complete discography of the band. At times it is strange and deranged. Their releases were very sought after before the cd was released. Surely most people know about the greatness of this band by now. Northern Sky Productions. |
| Soulless | Summoning Heresy | Inner Voice Records. |
| Spearhead | Deathless Steel Command | Beak-neck black/death from the UK. Slick sounding stuff as well. Tour de Garde. |
| Spectral Lore | Voices From Hell | Ambient black metal? The funny thing is, this band claims to have diesel harps hahahahaha! The European version of Velvet Cacoon! |
| Spirit of the Forest | Moonhowler | New Finnish band. At times remind of Satanic Warmaster. Good rough, raw sound. Limited to 200 copies on Nocturnal Woodlands Productions. |
| Stake of God | Cumshooting Inside the House of Christ | Quite a catchy title eh? As you can imagine, same for the song titles. Effect heavy vocals, drum machine, porn themed black metal. Awesome band photo included. Infernal Kommando Records. |
| Stake of God/Vultur | Dances Around the Fire | Split featuring two Italian bands. Stake of God serves up three tracks. Typical standard drum machine fare, nice guitar tone though. Vultur brings five tracks of black/death metal showcasing some guitar skills. Infernal Kommando Records. |
| Stella Arja | Title in Russian | Emotional and majestic aryan black metal. Spiritual polyphonic music for the elite! AMF Productions. |
| Sterbend | Dwelling Lifeless | Debut full length from this Germn outfit. Ten tracks for seventy five minutes. Defintely influenced by Burzum, riffs, vocals, etc. Tanhu Records. |
| Stigma Diabolicum/Aymrev Erkroz Prevre | Split | SD is the ambient project of Luc Mertz of ZBT. AEP is more CRAP by Mellokowhiz or whatever the fuck his name is. |
| Sturm Kommand | Rehearsal 07.07.07 | Well this is a little ripper. Four tracks clocking in at just over seven minutes. Brutal, bestial black metal, short and to the point. And being that this is a rehearsal, oh yes, it has the shit sound we like. Features Alexander of Aryan Art. Limited to 62 copies. |
| Stutthof | And Cosmos From To Dust/Through The Dark Age We're Dreaming | As the name implies, the full length and demo together on this release. The demo is in the more traditional Greek style while the full length is totally crushing and fierce. The full length is nicely arranged with "passages" at the beginning of the tracks. Great sound and atmosphere. Night Birds Records. |
| Stutthof | Towards They Astral Path | Continuing on in the strong foundation they have started with. Right in line with their other releases. One of the top bands out of Greece these days, without question. |
| Suffer Despair | Rotting Souls | Mid-paced depressive style black metal from California. This really isn't all that bad, especially for a US band, but programmed drums. Anyway, this band wants to let you know they are a member of the uber-gay HLP Army myspace club. Limited to 66 copies on Daemonokratia Productions. |
| S.U.N.D.S | Sharp Razors of Propaganda | Black noise/industrial, whatever. I fucking hate this stuff. Black metallers please stop doing shit like this. |
| Svart Hat | Nihilistic Holocaust | Tape lp from this French unit. Aggressive, hateful black metal. Haven't heard toomany good things out of France lately but this is a very solid release. Great guitar tone, reminiscent of LLN at times. Very good vocal work as well. Includes a Belketre cover. Infernal Kommando Records. |
| Svartblod | Rehearsal '05 | Only demo by this now defunct Swedish band. Too bad as this demo showed some promise. Solid riffing and excellent rehearsal sound. Cursed Creations. |
| Svartfell | Beyond the Realms of Death | Another new French band. Five tracks, just over fifteen minutes. Really good raw sound here. Even shows flashes of the once great French style. A very solid demo indeed. Drakkar Productions. |
| Svarthal | Silhouettes | New demo from this one man German band. Traditional Nordic black metal, quite similar to Immortal. Infernal Kommando Records. |
| Svartidaudi | The Temple of Deformation | New band from Iceland. Material sounds close to the orthodox style. Self-released. |
| Svartkrig | Fimbulvtre | Raw, rehearsal sound French bm almost similar to Vlad Tepes, good stuff! Drakkar Productions. |
| Svartkrist | Total Blasphemy | The 2nd and final demo from this Belgian band. Three tracks, fierce and aggressive. Rough sound quality as well. |
| Swarost | Oblicze Kultu Cieni | Polish black metal in the northern vein. Interesting guitar tone, audible bass. Good for a Polish band I suppose. Hail Satan 666 Productions. |
| Taarma/Der | Ceremony Of Self Sacrifice | Description coming... |
| Temnohor | Do ponurych smrecin hmla sa zakrada | Four track demo from this band out of Slovakia. Sounds typically Eastern European. Rough and primitive. Drum machine. Krologh Productions. |
| Temnozor | Sorcery is Strengthening the Black Glory of Rus' | Old full length from these Russians. Folky black metal or some shit. Watch out! The flutes bring a level of grimness never before seen or heard! |
| Terdor | The Combat Action of 5 October 1944 | Seems this is a re-release, originally came out in 2005. Dutch duo playing some nasty black metal. Everything is audible but there is a nice rawness to the sound. Ten tracks in total. And would you believe it comrade...real drums. War Flagellation Productions. |
| Thallium | A Howling From Thousand Years | Pagan black metal band from Brazil. Typically slower paced, epic feeling with synths. Full length album from 2002. Gates to Valhalla. |
| The Temple of Azoth | S/T | Apparently this was supposed to be released on SPR. Anyway, this Dutch band plays some pretty distorted, blown out black metal. If you like it rough and nasty, give this a try. At 50 minutes plus, you get your bang for your buck. Limited to 100 copies on Eradication Process Productions. |
| The Wizar'd | Killing Ourselves To Live | Really don't know anything about this band. Apparently it is blackened/sludge/doom or some shit. Seems they also have quite a following down in Australia. Winterreich Productions. |
| Thornspawn | Altars of the Perversed Flesh | Live recording from one of the most popular USBM bands! Limited to 300 copies on Alastor Rex. |
| Thy Black Blood | Unmerciful Sahdes | Solo project of Sabaoth from Flagellum Dei. Featuring four hymns of cold black metalm representing one of the best and darkest acts in the Portuguese scene. Sword Productions. |

| Tessaract | A Sudden Outcome | Ukranian death metal on Night Bird Records. |
| Thunder | Marchando Sobre O Gelo | New band out of Brazil with a seven song demo. They sound like traditional bm but their ideology is pagan/ns. On this demo they cover Bilskirnir (Feuerzauber) and Graveland (Black Metal War). Hammer of Damnation. |
| Thunderstorm | Hatred Burning Northern Sky | Raw, fast and spiteful black metal in the northern way. Stellar Winter Records. |
| Titan Mountain | Above Fangs of Majestic Stonetitans | Oh boy. Ultra symphonic bm from this one man Polish band. Swift moving synth lines accompanied by very artificial drums. A little over the top. Some clean/spoken vocal passages too. Limited to 200 copies on Strigoi Records. |
| Todesschwadron | Obey Satan | Debut demo. Prepare yourself for 5 morbid tracks of violence, possession and reverence including a Mutiilation cover. Almost 30 minutes of black metal in the French way with Russian lyrics. Limited to 200 copies. Arma Diaboli Productions. |
| Toil | Obscure Chasms | Debut lp from this US band. A strange and interesting release. This is something that does not reveal itself upon one or two listens, it unwraps over time. Originally released on lp by Grievantee. Some French label released this tape. |
| Toil | Demo I | The beginning of this often overlooked USBM band. One of the few solid US bands. Completely pro done. Forever Plagued Records. |
| TOMB | Sacrilegium | Black noise blah blah blah. Todestrieb Records. |
| Total Death/Slavator | Hellish Thrash Assault | Ripping, vicious thrash assault from both bands. Total Death from Italy and Slavator from Sweden. Limited to 100 copies on Twisted Face Productions. |

| Triskele | ...Les Murmures de la Foret | Ambient compositions in the vein the last two Burzum albums. Limited to 333 copies on Northern Horde Records. |
| Trist | Stiny | Slow, melancholic, depressive black metal from the Czech Republic. Usually bands from Eastern Europe are not my thing but this is done tastefully. Four tracks, forty one minutes. Insikt. |
| Trörkrvisätänsrökrëh | Khr'iirëëh z˙sthlkunr tsavlr kélsäth trörkrvisätäns | With a name like this you are probably thnking LLN rip off. Doesn't sound much like LLN to me. It does include a Mutiilation cover though. |
| Typhus | Profound Blasphemous Proclamation | Nordic, depressive, suicidal, satanic, orthodox....they got all the sub-genres covered! Black metal for special people, by special people. |
| Tyranath | Sign of War | Some fuckin crackin nsbm here. Doesn't really sound much like bm. With catchy titles like "88" and "White Woman for a White Man" you know this is some good shit. No, no it isn't. I think I would rather listen to Command, ooff. |
| Ugluk | Hveralundr | The sole demo from this defunct one man Italian band. Drum machine, synths, varied recording quality. |
| Ulfsdalir | Baldurs Traum | One man German project playing in the Burzum tradition. SDI Prod. |

| Unholy | Burning Blood | Description coming... |
| Unholy Crucifix | Seance of Death | Suffice to say, I was quite eager to get new material from this possessed beast. This demo comes off better than Morbid Edifice. Of course you have a pretty good idea what to expect from this band by now but even I was surprised by the production on this one. This demo is incredibly lo-fi. Listening to this with headphones on the volume has to be cranked. Now this is underground black metal! Northern Sky Productions. |
| Unholy Crucifix | Morbid Edifice | The mad Norwegian returns. Coming off of the massive Black Mass Sacrifice demo UC delivers another crushing set. Continuing in his style, this offering is brutal and pounding. This may not be as harsh on the ears as BMS but it is still intense. This is one of the best bands around in the brutal style. Von/Beherit influenced violence at its best. Northern Sky Productions. |
