Slightly raw production and a good sounding guitar tone. Wouldn't you know, real drums. Tape version also includes a track not found on the cd. AMF Productions.
Harridan Death's Sonnet Two demos on this release, 13 tracks at a whopping 70 minutes. The first demo is mainly mid-paced and plodding, almost trance inducing. Sound is thin and raw, very good demo sound. The second demo is in the same style as the first but the sound is even more thin but more high end. Oniric Records.
Hasamyp/Symbiosis/Hrefnesholt United By Heathen Blood Hasamyp can be described as raw and cold emotional pagan black metal. Symbiosis is cold, dark, dreamy ambient. Hrefnesholt is epic and ritual pagan battle ambient. AMF Productions.
Hasserben Chants d'Automne Re-release of the demo. Raw French black metal in the traditional French style. Very good sound on this one. This is another project of Nokturn (Dyster, Svartkrig, Ciel Nocturne), the French underground is alive. Eight tracks in total, including two bonus tracks not on the original demo. Limited to 250 copies on Infernal Kommando Records.

Heimdalls Wacht Der Untergang der alten Welt In good tradition is now available the tape-edition of the second Heimdalls Wacht album "Der Untergang der alten Welt". Just as with the first tape, you can expect a very limited and special edition, including a bonustrack. This band has improved on all points in terms of for example songwriting and production. Almost 70 minutes of pure aggressive and epic pagan black metal, alternating fast and brutal parts with powerful hymns and choirs! Heidens Hart.
Heimdalls Wacht Westfalischer Schlachtenlarm Heimdalls Wacht combines old Scandinavian black metal with a very own touch of folklore and majestic hymns, recommended for fans of new Absurd and Forefather. Icy guitars in different tempi meet acoustic guitars, moutharp, drums. Screamy vocals meet spoken passages and clean men-choirs. This band is unique. 52 minutes playing-time, special very limited and handnumbered tape-edition, including an alternate song not on the cd, previously released by Blutvergiessen. On Heidens Hart.

Hell Mary Belanglo Burial Being from Australia I was expecting this to be brutal, bestial black metal. It isn't. This is just more like old school metal. Limited to 300 copies on Sword Productions.
Hell Throne/Ur/Sentimen Beltza Split Hell Throne plays very simple bm, even to my surprise, sounding almost like Ildjarn at times. Ur is slow to mid-paced, atmospheric material. SB is straightforward traditional bm with raspy, throaty vox. Gorpubelatze Productions.
Helsefyr The Land of No Return/Deadly Black I Am Very heavy Darkthrone influence here, good vocal work. Both demos on one release.

Hills of Sefiroth Ein Atem Der Holle USBM on Wolfrune Worxx.
Hills of Sefiroth The Neglected Ancestry USBM on Wolfrune Worxx.
Hiver Noir Lethal Beings' Musik Demo from 2005. Quite long for a demo, ten tracks. This is very lo-fi production wise, don't hear many demos like this anymore! Not as tight as their later work, this is sloppier but hey demos are not supposed to be perfect. Drakkar Productions.
Hiver Noir From the Dead Times of Depression Another new French band on Drakkar. The sound here is different among the songs but all are raw and bad sounding. One track is an experimental/atmospheric guitar track.
Holocaustus Division Lykantrop German nsbm ja ja! Sharp sounding riffs, hateful, venomous vocals all backed by a ripping, pounding drum machine. Flammentod Prod.
Holocaustus Trummerwerk This one is between the split with Eisenwinter and Division Lykantrop. Not as nasty as the split but not as clean as DL. Flammentod Prod.
Holomraz Ocelove Mesto Eastern European band hailing from the Czech Republic. Not really eastern sounding, more traditional. Pretty much standard bm here. Krologh Productions.
Horn of Dagoth Rehearsal 2007 As the title implies, this is a rehearsal tape, soundwise you should know what to expect. As far as I know this is the lone release from this Bay Area band. A solid demo, three tracks spanning thirty-four minutes. Teutonic Satan.

Ildra Thaer Swefende Haeleth Licgath Full-length demo release of epic and atmospheric heathen black metal now incorporating traditional folk-melodies, more epic sound and acoustic drums. All lyrics are in the Anglo-Saxon tongue, featuring arrangements of traditional Anglo-Saxon epic poetry. Ildra Elreordgan Landum UK pagan metal, original version.

Imperial Tyrants Tyrannikal Inquisitions Very clean sounding release from this Signakvlt horde. This is just too much for my taste. If you like safe, studio friendly black metal, give this a go. Includes an Isengard cover. War Flagellation Productions.
Impious Havoc At the Ruins of the Holy Kingdom Debut full length of Darkthrone influenced material by these Finns. Best work to date.
Impious Havoc Monuments of Suffering Tape version of mcd including a bonus track. Meurtre Noir Records.
Impious Havoc Manifestations of Plague and War Another full length from these Finns. Still raw sounding, a little thinner on this one. Some moments harken back to the "At The Ruins..." album. Wolfrune Worxxx.
Indomitus/Mortinatum Split Two tracks from each band. Indomitus being aggressive and hateful...nice digitally distorted guitars, drum machine? Mortinatum is considerably more raw. Driving blasts creating a trance-like atmosphere, good sounding riffs and nice vocal work. Gorpubelatze Productions.

Infernal Kingdom Our Darkest Black Metal Predominantly fast, production has some rawness but everything is quite clear, traditional bm. Vocals are quite distinct. Limited to 200 copies on Hell War Productions.

Infinity Corvus Corax Raging dutch bm featuring a Funeral Winds member. Meurtre Noir Records.
Insane Vesper/Istidraj/Iron Fist 3 Way Split Fuzzy, distorted, fast bm from Insane Vesper. Aggressive Singapore bm from Istidraj, insane vox, live tracks. Iron Fist bring more Singapore madness, studio tracks and live tracks.
Interfektor Fullmoon Antiquity Nice thick, churning guitars. Vocals are more tolerable I guess, just not a fan of this guys stuff. Drakkar Prod.

Iphicrate The Dawn of Victory French viking metal with a terrible sounding drum machine. Good vox though.

Irae Anti Human Rehearsal You would expect this to have pretty bad sound considering it is a rehearsal bbut it's quite good. Everything can be heard clearly. Limited to 111 copies on Stricto Sensu Records.
Irrbloss Hymns Melodic northern forest folkloric black metal from Gothemburg. Featuring members from Minionslayer and It Will Come. Slick sounding release. Limited to 200 copies on Inner Voice Records.

Ishkur The Ancient Ones Come More fast Portuguese black metal in the traditional Nordic vein. Limited to a scarce 100 copies on Hell War Productions.
Isolation Hier am Ende der Walt Three track demo from these Krauts. When it started it immediately reminded me of Regnum. The track then picked up with some speed, morphing into a faster atmospheric track. There are more Regnum-esque moments in the demo as well. This demo has quite good atmosphere overall, nice somber mood. Even mixed and mastered by the DMDF himself. Ruin Productions.
Istidraj Blasphemous Ritual Barbaric extreme metal from Singapore. Clean but yet very brutal black metal. Absolutely insane, over the top vocals. Signahell Kvlt baby!!! Black Vomit Records.

Kay Pacha/Yana Rami The Time of Revenge Two South American bands on this split, both with full line ups. Kay PAcha spews forth rough and crude black metal.
